It's official...I have bronchitis and wheezing. I went to the doctor today and they did bloodwork and a breath test. I had to have a breathing treatment and then she put me on steroids, an antibiotic, and an inhaler. I wanted to go and them just tell me I had a chest cold and go home and rest and drink fluids...but I'm glad I went so I don't get pneumonia!
Praying for my sweet little neighbor Claire, 4 years old, she is having surgery tomorrow on her eye to remove 'foreign debris'.

Big Wheelin'
Mama left this morning...it's always sad to me when my family, friends, company leaves. Grace said tonight in her bed..."everyone is gone"....she means her grammie and her daddy, it's just me and the girls tonight...She misses her daddy when he's on a trip. Mostly I think it's because I don't give her foot and back massages every night like he does! We are suppose to get a wintry mix tonight and she is hoping school is cancelled. She REALLY is a homebody!
Yesterday was The 1st Annual Beale Street Big Wheel Relay to benefit the Salvation Army Angel Tree Foundation. Me, Jena, Gayle and Patti made up the required team of 4 and pedaled as fast as we could through a coned obstacle course! There were 38 teams which meant there were 14 races (because 2 teams raced at a time in Lane 1 and 2) We raced 5th in lane 2. The kids thought it was fun but they also said there were spooky people on Beale Street...why yes there is! They gave out prizes/merchandise based on quickest time per team. We raced against the Trojan Tricyclers (???) and they placed 3rd! We had a time of 2min 6sec and that was a really good time! We didn't place but it was fun and for a great cause. We were actually on the Action 5 News at 6 last night! Just a few seconds clip of me pedaling but still funny to see!
I am sick with either a chest cold/bronchitis/laryngitis/pneumonia so I am headed to the doctor tomorrow after almost a week of this. Pray I feel better soon...not an easy time of year for a mama to be sick and fatigued...not that ANY time of the year is good but this is crazy!

Thanksgiving 2011
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! I was a happy girl because my husband was home (which does not happy on major holidays very often!), my mama was here, my children are healthy and crazy, and I was entertaining and feeding a neighbor family who had no extended family in town! After we eat, we traditionally head to the park just down the road from our house and we walk this awesome boardwalk and trail through the woods. I made two new pies this year: a buttermilk pie and a chocolate chess pie....AmAzInG!!! They will now be added to my favorite list of pies! Those two pies are very southern traditional recipes but I didn't grow up eating them and have never even tasted them until I moved to Memphis.
Today, me and mama went to a few stores but not until noon; I'm not a big shopper (I can see your facial expression Shannon :-) so... I don't brave the Black Friday crowd no matter what! There is NOTHING I want that bad! Pete decorated the front yard/house with Christmas lights today, and tonight we went to Zoo Lights at the Memphis Zoo, very fun and the girls loved watching the ice skaters at the new ICE SKATING RINK!!
Tomorrow I will be attending the 1st Annual Beale Street Big Wheel Relay Race to benefit the Salvation Army Angel Tree Foundation! I think I'veofficially lost my mind! There are 4 members on a team and each person has to ride the big wheel 250 ft, for a total or 1,000 feet, so that doesn't sound too bad right??? Mama and the girls will be my cheerleaders and Pete will miss ALL the fun because he will be gone on a trip! It is suppose to rain tomorrow...and the race will go on....so stayed tuned....

Motivated!
I had the privilege of hearing Lisa TerKeurst speak Monday night at my church! She is the President of Proverbs 31 Ministries and has written 15 books, her newest was just released called Unglued. She gave a message based on 1 Thess. 5:16-18.
Sooo, my mom came last night!! Woo hoo! She did it ALL ALONE with me as her only cheerleader! She proved to everyone in the family that she could make it and not get lost :-) The girls were so excited! I had not told them so they only knew it was a possibility! They giggled all night and said, "We always laugh the most when grammie is around, she laughs a lot"! It was the sweetest thing to hear their giggle and their faces were so lit up and you could see the happiness and fun on their faces!
I also had the honor of helping a friend while being proxy mom for her kindergartener! She has a sick 3rd grader and an 11 month old at home, and the big FEAST was at school so she asked me could I go so Cooper wouldn't be the only one without a mom! He was so happy to see me and he shared his deli turkey, cheese cubes, popcorn, cheese puffs and roll with me!
Then I came home and was so super excited to start preparing for my Thanksgiving meal (yea yea I know I said 2 days ago that I wanted to go out to dinner, changed my mind, hee hee) So I made my cornbread, boiled lots of eggs and sauteed my onions and celery! It made me so happy to do those few things, but just being in the kitchen makes me happy, even if it's just standing at the bar watching my kids eat! Me and mama have several things and places we want to see and do today!! And once again, I'm loving this blogging! Once again, thanks Shannie pooh!
- Be joyful always
- Pray continually
- Give thanks in ALL circumstances...for this is God's will

I'm a Blogger!!
Woo hoo! Thanks Shannie pooh! (Inside joke!) With some encouragement from Shannon and Randee I am trying to blog, but I don't think it's a good idea...I don't even want people reading my blog! I do Facebook and I keep a written journal by my bed, how much more can I add to my schedule! It's not that interesting anyway; I've survived Walmart today (major accomplishment) and I now have a headache from the rainy dreary weather. You know I get S.A.D. and I need sunshine....every....single....day....So now what girls............
I just need to admit something right now; I really want to eat out for Thanksgiving this year but no one is feeding my fire for the idea. I think it would be so nice not to slave for 2 days prior then have 3 days+ of leftovers. I don't know...
I have all these ideas in my mind I want to be doing right now but I'm sitting here BLOGGING instead of being creative or productive :-)

Wonderful Weekend!!
We started out with Girl Scouts on Friday where the girls learned to be a sister to all and then did some cake decorating! Saturday I worked 5 hours and was completely blessed by the patients that crossed my path. I then came home and spent the rest of the day outside with my family and neighbors! Pete lit the firepit and we roasted hot dogs and marshmellows...my high light of the day was cleaning out the guinea pig cage and pulling some disgusting (stuff) out of Brownie's fur (oh yeah), I can't tell you how (NOT) exciting that chore is for me!!*#$&@ Then I sprayed some dry shampoo in my hair and took a PTA bath so I could go to my monthly LCR Girls Night. There were only 4 of us and I stayed the longest I've ever stayed at LCR! I got home at midnight but we had some major serious discussions that you can't have when the "group" is there! We didn't play the game but it was a much needed "REAL" girls night. Sunday I had the clean fever come over me which doesn't happen often so I ran with it. I am exhausted now but I don't sleep well or often. I ended my day talking to my BFF Shannon for over an hour (she has put up with me since 2nd grade)!! I'm getting ready to send Blake a letter now! This is my first blog post ever!
